Strange Winter

What a strange winter

 

Winters for me are generally a quiet affair.  Blankets of snow cover the landscape.  There is so much snow, in fact, that sometimes the only way to get around is on a snowmobile or skis.  Part of our road closes to all vehicles for several months.  I find it exquisitely beautiful and very peaceful.  A perfect time to get busy painting!

Now, I must admit that my sample size of winter weather in Wyoming is rather small.  It covers only a few years.  But when other residents that have been here for decades chime in that this year is wacky, you take notice.  There hasn’t been much snow yet and what little we have evaporates quickly when the temperatures are well above freezing for days at a time.  There is just enough snow to make driving impossible and too little to enjoy skiing.  Shame…
